Hot Reflection

This teaching practice was done the Wednesday 19^th. I started with a warm up called “Ninja Hands.” I like this activity because people, especially young people, enjoy it a lot and require students’ concentration. On the other hand, it is useful to elicit students speaking skills. Then, I developed a reading activity related to the topic they were going to study, which was about the quantifiers many, a lot of and few. This reading helped students understand the topic better since it contained the examples in contexts.

After that, I proceed to give the grammar explanation. To be sincere I had some problems because the topic is quite complex. Even so, the students could understand my explanation. I tried to give clear explanations. This was showed in the practice. Students did really well, with minus problems with some students.

Overall, I enjoyed teaching this class because I tried not to make the mistakes I did in the past, and I could see an improvement here because I even noticed a better workflow and rapport from students. I know that receiving feedback will make me a better teacher.

My experience when recording an audio.

Recording an audio is not as easy as it seems. There can be positive and negative factors. Is a nice way to go with the students because they can easily pay attention, especially when the audio is clear or understandable.

My experience while recording an audio was stressful because when I was trying to record the audios there were lots of obstacles that didn’t let me to record how I wanted. For example, I was recording an audio when suddenly my dog started to bark, so I had to stop the audio and record it again. This is a factor that affects when recording an audio. Another example was when I was almost finishing my last audio and somebody called me in that moment, so these are negative factors.

A positive factor could be when you recorded an audio and then you realized that there is a bad pronunciation or when you noticed that there is something important that you forgot to say, so you have the opportunity to record the audio again. This kind of situations are good because you can fix what you did wrong. 

As a conclusion for me was a challenge because I have never record audios like the ones I recorded, but I try to do the best. Recording is a nice way to catch student’s attention, so I tried to record the audios as clear as I could. I would like to do it again because it was a nice experience and is a nice way to go with the students.
